Modelling

From 2000 to 2005, I was a research assistant at the SCD research unit located in the Dept. of electronics of the ‘Katholieke Universiteit Leuven‘ (Belgium). My research was oriented towards subspace system identification, a blackbox technique to derive a mathematical model for a given system, starting from input/output measurements on the system. System identification is widely used in several engineering applications like fault-detection, predictive control (steering the input with the knowledge of a mathematical model), vibration detection in mechanical systems, prediction of electrical networks, etc.
